Heinlein on Specialization

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly.  Specialization is for insects."

Follow Your Bliss
Enjoyed reading your grand plan. I've just retired from teaching due to a disability, so I'm in the process of moving to a senior apartment complex in wine country (San Francisco Bay area) and starting a new life. It's daunting. I'm 61, and I feel like my life is really just beginning

Thank you for your comment, imsojude!

I can relate to upcoming life changes feeling/being daunting. I'm 57, and we are planning many major changes! It will be beginning a new life indeed.

Good luck and skill with your changes and new life!
